Megan E. Devendorf- Owner/Operator

I have my Masters from Wheelock College in Early Care and Education and live in Medfield, MA with my husband and three children, who are members of the Macomber Center in Framingham. In addition to running Let Children Play, I am a teacher at Sprouts Farm and Forest Kindergarten in Millis.

Let Children Play invites children to play in a non-competitive atmosphere and supports parents in promoting play for their children. I believe that a child’s occupation is play and that TIME, FREEDOM, and COMMUNITY are necessary components of play. I have been working with children and families for over 20 years! I love the outdoors and hope to share that with the Let Children Play community. I also believe that all forms of play, whether inside or outside, are beneficial for children.

My views on play were shaped by my upbringing. I was a competitive gymnast starting at the age of seven. Play opportunities became scarce as my training intensified and the lack of freedom to play became a severe problem for me. Today intense sports schedules have become the norm for many children. I have a deep understanding of both worlds—the fast paced, discipline of athletics and the value of play as a form of learning and source of joy—and I believe there can be a happy medium.
